New Process for COVID-19 Daily Student Screening

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, February 1st, we will be switching to a digital screening process for all students to show that the daily COVID-19 School Screening has been completed before coming to school. Each morning, you

will receive an email from the school with the following message. You will then select the homeroom of each of your children, complete the screening and submit the form.

We will be using the OPH flowchart of COVID Symptoms to determine if a child needs to be sent home. It also includes guidelines about isolation. If the school receives confirmation of a positive Covid test result from a rapid antigen (RAT) or PCR test, families of the students in the affected class will receive a letter notifying you of this potential case. Ottawa Public Health has informed us that school contacts are not considered high-risk contacts and only need to self-isolate if they show symptoms.

GUA Kindness Week 2021

Wednesday - Tickled Pink: School wide read aloud and pink shirt day.

Thursday - Stick to Kindness Day: Students write a pledge or promise on a sticky note of how they can be kind. These will be displayed in the school

Friday - Inspire Kindness: Friday: Wear a shirt with an inspirational message. Who inspires you? Write a message of kindness or hope to someone special!

Parent Teacher Interviews: Thursday, November 11th, 2021

Guardian Angels Catholic School

Thursday, November 11th, 2021

4:00 - 5:20 pm and 6:00 - 7:50 pm

Guardian Angels uses an online system for booking parent teacher interviews. Click on the teacher's name and the link will take you to the calendar for that teacher. Each interview will be 10 minutes long and will be either by phone or virtual meet. Out of courtesy to other parents, please only book one time slot per teacher.

If your child is in Kindergarten, only book one interview with your child’s homeroom teacher and Registered Early Childhood Educator.

If you are not able to book a time to see your child’s teacher, please write a note in your child’s agenda or contact the teacher to arrange for another time to discuss your child’s progress.

Please see this link to book your interviews.

Terry Fox School Run

Guardian Angels is proud to be participating in the Terry Fox School Run on Tuesday September 28th. In the case of inclement weather the run will take place on Wednesday September 29th. Please support this admirable cause by donating online to our school's fundraising page at GUA Donation Page - Terry Fox Run . Unfortunately, no cash donations can be sent into the school this year.

Your child is encouraged to do chores and/or good deeds around the home/neighborhood to earn money to be able to donate. Please feel free to share the donation link with family and friends to help us reach our goal of raising $5,000! The donation link will close on October 1st.

Over the next few weeks, your child will be participating in a variety of activities at school to learn about Terry Fox. Please encourage your child to share with you what they have been learning about this incredible Canadian hero.

Thank you for joining us in the fight against cancer.
